Heimvik rules August leg of MGAP monthly tourney
MAGNUS Heimvik ruled the August leg of the Maritime Golf
Association of the Philippines’ monthly golf tournament held at the Manila
Golf and Country Club last August 29.
Heimvik carded a final round 70 to edge a bevy of maritime
parbusters that turned in despite the cloudy morning in the tourney sponsored
by Fair Shipping Agency, Inc., Petro Bulk Maritime Services Inc.
and Sealink Group of Companies.
The Class A trophy went to Oscar Meman, with a final score
of 70. Runnerup honors went to Capt. Torres, a stroke away at 71.
Carlito Chua ruled the Class B division with an even par
72, with Jimmy Portus, trailing him two strokes, for the runnerup plum.
At the Class C division, Nemecio Pagtakhan proved the
better parbuster with Jimmy Bartolome landing as runnerup.
Emi Clerigo, the division champ, got the scare of his
life with a no let-up assault by Bang Mamaril, who carded a stroke behind
to land on the No. 2 spot in Class D. Guest honors went to Amor Cando,
for his 69. |
